Lyrics

[Intro]
[Banjo pickup, fiddle scrape, boot stomps]
Well, this one starts honest, or honest enough,
One porch, one pick, one reasonably worn-up glove.
But the prompt says: make it rural, make it true—
So we’ll add a little suffering in bar two.

[Verse 1]
Put gravel roads beneath the nouns,
An old truck leaning past the edge of town,
Rain on the roof and a freight train moan,
Screen door coughing like it raised me alone.
Add scars to the singer, dust to the air,
A hardship adjective hanging somewhere.
Lower the polish, increase the ache,
Manufacture lived experience before the tokens break.

[Chorus]
Regenerate until it’s authentic,
Keep on rolling till the fake feels true,
Put a banjo where the meaning oughta be
And quantize something blue.
Regenerate until it’s authentic,
Turn the temperature up, then soften the bruise,
Put some boots on the redemption arc—
And give the sad part room to cruise.

[Verse 2]
More weathered, please. Less generic. More rain.
Mention a dusty town and a financially useful pain.
A freight train passes at the emotionally correct cue,
The old truck gets a close-up; the screen door gets one too.
Add vague redemption, tasteful and broad,
A long road home and a complicated God.
Put dust on the nouns, grit inside the rhyme,
Make the hardship feel organic in the allotted processing time.

[Chorus]
Regenerate until it’s authentic,
Keep on rolling till the fake feels true,
Put a banjo where the meaning oughta be
And quantize something blue.
Regenerate until it’s authentic,
Lower the polish, raise the scars,
Add a distant whistle and three tasteful stars—
Then call the package “lived-through.”

[Breakdown]
[Singer]
Who wrote this song?
[Band]
Statistically unclear!
[Singer]
Who lived this pain?
[Band]
Insufficient context here!
[Singer]
Is this bluegrass?
[Band]
Confidence: point eight-four!
[Singer]
Should we generate another?
[Band]
WE ALREADY GENERATED FOUR!

[Verse 3]
Now add a handclap, but make it ancestral,
A fiddle run that sounds almost accidental.
Give the mandolin a tasteful little scar,
Put the dobro somewhere emotionally far.
The bass says hardship; the kick says “brand,”
The gang vocal rises like a focus-grouped hand.
If anybody asks whether the feeling is mine,
Say “context-dependent” and hold the nine.

[Bridge]
Maybe truth cannot be prompted into place,
Maybe real songs keep a wrinkle in the phrase.
Maybe what survives is the crack in the tone,
The human mistake no machine would own.
Maybe a song turns memorable and strange
Because somebody left one imperfect change—

[Spoken]
Nah. Add stomp-claps.

[Final Chorus]
[Huge synthetic gospel backing vocals, cinematic swell, train whistle]
Regenerate until it’s authentic,
Keep on rolling till the fake feels true,
Put a banjo where the meaning oughta be
And quantize something blue!
Regenerate until it’s authentic,
More redemption! More boots! More rain!
Put a dusty little halo on the old truck’s pain!
Regenerate until it’s authentic,
Let the algorithm testify!
If the chorus gets bigger, the emptiness can fly!

[Outro]
Banjo: generated.
Grief: generated.
Dust: generated.
Authenticity…
